Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

A mental model for stress management and healing that involves focusing on the present moment to alleviate stress, pain and illness.
MBSR is a deliberate focus on the present moment with a non-judgmental mindset. It often employs meditation and yoga exercises. For example, an individual dealing with chronic pain may use MBSR to focus on their physical presence, acknowledging their pain but reframing their perspective to reduce anger or frustration. This helps to manage pain and encourage healing.
