The SMART Goals Framework

The SMART Goals Framework is a mental model that ensures the goals we set for personal growth are clear, reachable and meaningful.
The SMART acronym stands for Specific (S), Measurable (M), Achievable (A), Relevant (R), and Timely (T). For instance, after a breakup, instead of having a vague goal like 'I want to be happier', a SMART goal would be 'I will spend 15 minutes every day practicing mindfulness meditation for the next 30 days to improve my mental wellness'. This goal is specific, it can be measured by the time spent meditating, it's achievable and relevant to post-breakup growth, and it's time-bound to 30 days.
The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. - Benjamin Mays
