Two-Minute Rule

The Two-Minute Rule is a time management strategy used to boost productivity. Upon encountering tasks that can be done within two minutes, simply do them right away instead of procrastinating to avoid overwhelm and time wastage in the future.
Conceptualized by David Allen in his productivity book 'Getting Things Done', the Two-Minute Rule implies that if a task takes two minutes or less to complete, it should be done immediately rather than being put off for later. This rule efficiently prevents tasks from accumulating and turning into a big, overwhelming project. For example, tasks like replying to an email or washing dishes after eating should be done right away if it requires around two minutes. This way, you save the time you may lose when these tasks pile up while also minimizing decision fatigue and procrastination.
